Friday night, Parma return to the Stadio Tardini brimming with confidence. After that shock at San Siro, the promoted side want to back it up in front of their fans against a Cagliari team also inching toward safety… but with hardly any margin for error.

Both clubs have picked up three wins in their last six league matches. Form’s decent. But nothing’s decided in this unpredictable Serie A.

Parma keep surprising. After two scrappy wins over Bologna and Hellas Verona when opponents were down to ten men, they punched even harder last weekend.

At AC Milan — unbeaten in the league since August — Carlos Cuesta’s men caused a proper shock. Mariano Troilo buried a late winner that was first ruled out, then handed back by VAR. Perfect script. More importantly, it put eight points between them and the drop.

It’s their third straight Serie A win, the club’s best run since 2014. For a newly promoted side, that’s loud and clear. Cuesta, still green at the top level, has drilled a disciplined group that can grind results and strike when it matters.

Funny fact: Parma have picked up more points away than at home this season. Sitting 12th, just above Cagliari, they’re chasing a second straight win at the Tardini — something they haven’t managed in six years.

Confidence is high. Now they need to prove it in front of a crowd that’s starting to believe.

Cagliari aren’t out of it. Thirteenth in the table, the Sardinians still have a thin cushion over the drop and can realistically aim for a fourth straight season in the top flight.

But things aren’t smooth. A run of three wins had kickstarted them, then they slipped up against Roma and Lecce. Last week they held Lazio to a 0-0 draw — a tight game that was frustrating to watch up front.

The main worry is the attack. Cagliari haven’t scored in their last three outings. Young coach Fabio Pisacane is hunting for answers, and they’ll be without Yerry Mina after his late red card against Lazio.

Away form is another issue: just 13 points from 39 on the road. Still, the memory of the 2-0 win in the first meeting could give them belief. Cagliari have won all three clashes between the clubs since Parma’s promotion in 2024.

A Friday win would drag them level with Parma. The stakes are simple.

Likely lineups

Parma : Corvi ; Circati, Troilo, Valenti ; Del Prato, Bernabe, Keita, Sorensen, Valeri ; Strefezza ; Pellegrino

Cagliari : Caprile ; Ze Pedro, Rodriguez, Dossena, Obert ; Palestra, Adopo, Sulemana, Idrissi ; Esposito, Kilicsoy

Football Prediction Parma vs Cagliari

Draw

On paper the momentum looks even. Parma arrive with more zip, but their home form is patchy. Cagliari struggle away and are toothless up front right now.

Both need points to lock in safety. In that light, a shared point makes sense.

Expect a tight, tense game where one mistake could decide it. A draw looks the most likely outcome in such a balanced clash.

First things first: a word on our predictions

  • What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We offer an opinion, a snapshot read of the moment, not a guarantee. Sport is still what it is: unpredictable. A red card, a late injury, a freak goal… and the whole script changes.
  • Let’s be blunt: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, nothing’s certain. Yes, that means you can lose. It will happen sooner or later.
  • Be sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — that almost never ends well.
  • Betting should stay a pastime, not a job or a source of income. If it’s taking over, making you anxious or putting pressure on your life, stop and get help. There are specialist organisations for that.
  • Ultimately, responsibility sits with you. Reading our content means you accept that risk exists and won’t ever disappear, even with the best analysis.
  • Important reminder: betting is banned for minors and must follow the law where you live. Gambling can spiral (financial loss, family tension, addiction). Need help? Player Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium number) https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No promises from us

Our predictions aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. In short: you can’t hold us liable if a bet fails.

Information can change

A tip always rests on what we know when we write it. Between then and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player can get injured, the weather can turn… and the analysis can go out of date. We can’t be held responsible for that.

Your responsibility

Before you bet, check betting is legal where you are. If it isn’t, that’s your issue, not ours.

Responsible gambling first

We’ll keep saying it: gamble responsibly. If you struggle to control it, don’t wait to seek help. We can’t be held liable for compulsive or excessive use of the information on this site.
