Oklahoma City Thunder – San Antonio Spurs: clash at the top
The No.1 against No.2 in the West. The reigning champions against one of the league’s most promising young teams. The Thunder meet the Spurs for the fourth time this season — they’ll be desperate to finally stop Victor Wembanyama and San Antonio.
Oklahoma City Thunder: finally beat the Spurs
The Thunder have bounced back after a rough patch: seven wins in their last nine under Mark Daigneault. In that span they’ve posted a few encouraging, even convincing, wins — Heat 124-112 or that 117-116 comeback over the Grizzlies without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander after trailing by 21. OKC play at home in the Paycom Center for this fourth meeting with the Spurs, where they thrive (only two home defeats all season). Only catch: the Thunder still haven’t beaten San Antonio this season, odd for a team that’s lost just seven games so far.
On the roster front, Oklahoma City will be missing Isaiah Hartenstein and Nikola Topic for this one. Fortunately, that shouldn’t seriously dent the defending champs’ defense. Allowing just 108,4 points per game, the Thunder are the only team keeping opponents under 110 on average — impressive. Led by SGA, Oklahoma’s offense is equally excellent: 121,4 points per game, the second-best mark in the league. Now they just need to maintain those standards against the Spurs…
San Antonio Spurs: bounce back after a bad loss
Still second in the West, the Spurs are going through a tougher stretch. Victor Wembanyama’s minute restriction doesn’t help, and Mitch Johnson’s men have dropped matches they should’ve taken recently — see the 105-106 loss to the Grizzlies. Result: only two wins in their last five. That said, there were solid results in the period too, like wins over the Lakers (107-91) and Celtics (100-95). Away from their Frost Bank Centers, the Spurs have been pretty good, with thirteen wins in twenty games.
Devin Vassell’s absence (still out for this game) is really hurting the Spurs’ offensive execution, normally one of the league’s better attacks (ninth with 118,1 points scored per game). In the last five games they’ve failed to pass 110 once. Against the Thunder’s suffocating defense, the trio Victor Wembanyama, De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle will have to bring their best to keep San Antonio afloat on that end. The Texans can also lean on top-level defense — we saw it across the three previous matchups with the Thunder: 109, 110 and 102 points conceded.
NBA prediction Oklahoma City Thunder vs San Antonio Spurs
Under 228,5 points
Given the Spurs’ recent form, it’s not in their interest to play at a frantic tempo. Devin Vassell’s absence badly affects their offensive efficiency, so it makes sense for them to slow the game and avoid getting run over by the Thunder. Oklahoma City, for their part, have all the tools to handle that game shape, with their star duo Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams. Expect a playoff-level intensity and therefore a fairly limited scoring line compared with NBA standards in 2026.

First — a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We share an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport stays what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal from nowhere… and the script flips.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no bet without risk. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing truly is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
- Best policy is to be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live. And above all: don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it takes over your life, makes you angry or stressed, take a break. And if needed, talk to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re there for.
- In the end, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Important reminder: betting is prohibited for minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral quickly (financial losses, family tensions, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment on our part
Our predictions aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. In short: you can’t rely on them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Info that can change
A prediction is always based on what we know when we write it. But in the meantime a lineup (like the Thunder’s) can change, a player can get injured, the weather can turn… and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We can’t be held responsible for that.
