New York Knicks – Dallas Mavericks: Jalen Brunson matchup
Knicks and Mavericks meet in the Jalen Brunson matchup. The Knicks need to snap out of a rotten patch, while Dallas wants to keep its offensive hot streak rolling at Madison Square Garden. This could be a proper watch — a lot more interesting than the standings make it look.
New York Knicks: need to find their shooting touch at the right time
Four losses in five, eight in ten… The Knicks have been flat. Sure, missing Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart didn’t help, but a team of New York’s size should survive those recurring regular-season tests. Losses to the Kings (101-112) and the Warriors (113-126) have exposed troubling defensive holes.
At home it’s another story. Third in the East and 16 wins in their first 21 games at Madison Square Garden, they boast the third-best offensive efficiency in the league with over 118 points per game. Their outside shooting (37,5 % from three this season) stays a major weapon, especially against a Texas defense that can be generous. New York will have to turn up the volume and push a high tempo to get back on track in front of their crowd.
Dallas Mavericks: confidence back despite the absences
The Mavericks arrive in New York with far better momentum. Two big wins over Utah (144-122 then 138-120) did wonders for morale and confirmed the team’s uptick from deep, nearly 44 % from three recently. Klay Thompson remains the main long-range weapon, well backed by a unit that plays fast and fires a lot. Cooper Flagg should also make his MSG debut tonight.
It’s not perfect. Injuries — notably Anthony Davis — have dented the defense and rim protection. On the road Dallas still struggles to string wins together and collects most of its losses away. But in a game that could run at a frantic pace, the Texans can trade blows and stay glued to the Knicks.

NBA Prediction New York Knicks vs Dallas Mavericks
Over 228,5 points
The Mavericks have been insanely good offensively lately, and the Knicks’ defense hasn’t inspired any confidence after recent showings. Opponents love to put up numbers at Madison Square Garden, and on Cooper Flagg’s first trip to basketball’s Mecca, don’t be surprised if he shows up. Expect an open game with plenty of scoring.

First up, a word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We share an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport stays unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the script flips.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, it rarely is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable sooner or later.
- Best advice: be sensible. Bet small, set a bankroll and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — it almost never ends well.
- Betting should be a pastime, not a job or a source of income. If it takes over, gets on your nerves or stresses you out, take a break. If needed, speak to a specialist. That’s what they’re there for.
- In the end, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Essential reminder: betting is prohibited for minors and must comply with your country’s law. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family tensions, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our picks aren’t a contract. They have no legal weight. In short: you can’t rely on them to claim anything if a bet fails.
Info that changes
A pick is always based on what we know when we write. But in the meantime, a team lineup (like the Knicks) changes, a player gets injured, the weather worsens… and the analysis can become outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your role
