On Monday in Dallas the Minnesota Timberwolves were clinical — serious, controlled, efficient. That’s exactly the kind of game they need with the playoffs looming: confidence builders. Final score, 124-94. The Mavericks barely showed up.
Randle at home, Edwards back
In a one-way game Julius Randle looked completely at ease. 24 points without forcing it, like he knew every inch of the floor. No surprise — he’s one of them. He plays right, at the right tempo, never overdoing it.
Alongside him Edwards’ return was much anticipated. Six games out, timing to find, and even a delayed entry after a tip-off mix-up. He offered an explanation after the game… an oddly original one:
Anthony Edwards had some complications in his return

Not a starter in the end, but present. 17 points off the bench, tidy runs, and that feeling he doesn’t have to fight to matter. Simple math for him: play every game left to stay award-eligible. From what he showed, the fitness looks fine.
Wolves’ depth makes the difference
Beyond the stars, the Wolves’ roster depth stands out. Ayo Dosunmu posted a full triple-double — 16 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists. Constant activity, quick decisions, impact everywhere. Rudy Gobert cleaned up the paint with 14 points and 10 boards. Donte DiVincenzo kept raining from deep — 15 points on sharp shooting.
Everybody chipped in. Everybody bought into a clear plan and it showed from the first quarter. A 19-2 run — brutal, decisive — blew the game open. The lead climbed fast and never came down.
Dallas collapse at home
Across the way it was ugly. The Mavericks sunk further with a thirteenth straight home loss. A spiral that’s hard to stop once confidence disappears.
Daniel Gafford tried to keep a lid on things with 21 points. Cooper Flagg, the hyped rookie, had a rough night — 12 points but just 5-of-19 from the floor and a terrible start. Nothing clicked: shot, rhythm, or energy.
Wolves climb, Mavs sink deeper
With the win Minnesota move into fifth in the West — a solid spot built on consistency and a unit hitting its stride at the right time. Dallas? They’re already looking elsewhere. The season drags, defeats pile up, and their future feels more under construction than under control.
Monday night there was no real suspense. Just one team moving forward, confident in its strengths, and another still trying to work out how to get back up.
