Shai takes charge, OKC in control
The defending champs keep grinding along quietly, but with brutal consistency.
The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Dallas Mavericks 100-87, built on another Shai Gilgeous-Alexander masterclass.
30 points for the reigning MVP in a game that was never flashy but was fully under control.

A historic road streak
With this outing, Gilgeous-Alexander has scored at least 20 points in each of his last 59 road games — the longest streak in NBA history.
That number tells you everything about his consistency away from home. Doesn’t matter the arena. Doesn’t matter the situation. Shai delivers.
It was only his second game back after missing nine with an abdominal strain. No rust. He set the pace, controlled the clock, and hit when it mattered.
Beside him, Chet Holmgren added 19 points and 9 rebounds, giving defensive versatility and a real presence inside.

A solid Thunder, even when not dazzling
This win also shows something else: Oklahoma City can win without lighting it up on offense.
Only 100 points — their lowest point total in a win this season. Yet the game was never really in doubt.
OKC now sit at 47-15, half a game behind the league leaders (Detroit) and three games clear of the West’s second place, San Antonio.
Defense did the heavy lifting. Dallas managed its lowest offensive output of the season.
Mavericks in full crisis
The Mavericks’ season is sliding fast.
Shorthanded — missing several starters, including rookie Cooper Flagg (out for a seventh straight game with a foot sprain) — Dallas slipped again.
Caleb Martin led the team with 18 points — his first time as Dallas’ top scorer in 65 games — but it wasn’t nearly enough.
The numbers say it all:
8th straight home loss
13 defeats in their last 15 games
21-39 in the standings
Even Klay Thompson didn’t finish the game (groin pain).
Coach Jason Kidd also hinted Flagg probably won’t be back for the next trip to North Carolina.
Thunder marching into spring
Oklahoma City don’t need to win 130-125 every night.
They can lock down. Defend. Be patient. Punish.
Shai’s the compass. Holmgren brings balance. The team handles the rest.
In a stacked Western Conference, the Thunder keep sending the same message:
They are the champions.
And they intend to stay that way.
