Even on an off night, real stars still find a way. SGA proved it again Sunday. The Thunder leader finished with 20 points and 10 assists — just enough to stretch his historic run of 20-point games — as Oklahoma City beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-103.
A win that sends OKC to eight straight and cements them as the team to beat in the league.

Historic streak saved in the nick of time
For a long stretch it looked like the streak was done.
At halftime SGA had just 4 points on a rare 2-for-10 shooting night. Quiet for the guy who’s carried OKC all season.
But he woke up in the fourth. A big bucket over Anthony Edwards, then a free throw amid “MVP” chants — enough to hit 20.

Bottom line: his streak of 20-point games is at 128 — a new record, passing Wilt Chamberlain’s mark.
OKC’s depth did the damage
SGA did his job, but it was the Thunder’s team game that swung it.
Chet Holmgren added 21 points and 9 rebounds, Isaiah Joe chipped in 20.
The real spark came off the bench. Jared McCain brought energy and knocked down several threes in the fourth, letting Oklahoma City pull clear.

Turnovers sink Minnesota
Minnesota actually started the game well. The Wolves led 53-47 at the break and looked like they could control the tempo.
Julius Randle carried the attack with 32 points, Anthony Edwards added 19.
But Minnesota folded under 22 turnovers, handing the Thunder too many easy chances.
Thunder confirm their status as favorites
This win pushes Oklahoma City to an eye-catching 53-15 — the best record in the NBA.
OKC look ready for the playoffs: an offense that can score in a blink and a defense that forces mistakes.
And even on a so-so night from their leader, the Thunder proved one thing.
With SGA, Oklahoma City always has an answer.
