For three and a half quarters at the Kaseya Centerin Miami, this had nothing to do with a script. It was a jittery scrap — each side wobbling, coming back, then wobbling again. Then, suddenly, everything flipped. A brutal, unanswered 14-0 and the Heat turned the Philadelphia 76ers over 119-109, like slamming a door at just the right moment.
A game that wobbled, then exploded
Nothing was straightforward tonight. Miami started fast and built a lead. Philly came back. Then Miami pushed again. Then they retreated. The sort of game where nobody really steers the ship.
The Sixers erased two double-digit deficits. At the break they were ahead. Later they clawed back, hung on, even grabbed the lead in the clutch. A go-ahead three from Joel Embiid with just over three minutes left made it 107-103. At that point, it looked Philly had the edge. That’s when Miami hit the gas.
Herro lights up, Adebayo lays down the law
In that suffocating finish Tyler Herro got hot. 30 points overall, but it’s the timing of those buckets that mattered — the ones that swing games. Next to him, Bam Adebayo did the dirty work. 23 points, 16 rebounds. In the paint, physically imposing, vital when it got heated.
The surprise was Pelle Larsson — 20 points and 10 rebounds, a career night. Energy, impact, zero hesitation. He played like the game was his too.

Early in the fourth it was 107-103 Philly. Then nothing. Two minutes and thirty-six seconds of total blackout for the Sixers. Not a single point. Forced shots, botched possessions, an offense that froze.
Miami, meanwhile, rolled. Aggressive defense, quick transitions, shots falling. The 14-0 landed like an executioner’s blade. The game was wrapped before Philly knew what hit them.
Philly collapses at the worst time
And yet the Sixers had done plenty of the heavy lifting. Tyrese Maxey was everywhere — 23 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds. Paul George added 19. Embiid finished with 26.

There was a neat subplot in the stands. VJ Edgecombe, backed by a wave of Bahamian flags, riding a special kind of energy. 13 points, 5 assists, and a crowd that buzzed with every play. Still, it wasn’t enough. In the final minutes everything evaporated.
Miami keeps the fire alive
With this win Miami stays alive. Still clinging to that murky play-in zone, hoping to climb. Maybe a better seed. Maybe just two chances instead of one. Either way, this game says something else.
It says the Heat don’t quit — they can bend but they don’t break. Mostly it says they can flip a tight game in a handful of possessions. Monday night in Miami, it took two minutes to remind the entire league.
