Some games turn on a play. Others turn on a player. Last night in Boston, Jaylen Brown decided how the story ended.

A fourth-quarter masterclass
For three quarters the game was tight. Then it hit the most dangerous stretch: money time.
And Brown went up a level.
18 points in the final quarter, drives, free throws, clutch shots… and that feeling on every possession that he was about to make something happen.

When Boston trailed 111-108 he lit the fuse. A steal on Booker, a fast-break, then a run of buckets to seal it.
The kind of stretch that swings a game — and lingers in your head.
Booker answered, but couldn’t finish
Across from him, Devin Booker didn’t shirk.
40 points, pure scoring, rhythm and accuracy. For long stretches he kept Phoenix in it.

But in the final minutes the gears jammed. Two turnovers, a bit of fog, and Boston pounced.
It was a beautiful duel. The finish, though, belonged to Boston.
Boston tightened up when it counted
What separates teams? Closing ability.
The Celtics rolled a final 12-1 to snuff out the Suns. Tougher defense, smarter possession play, and a unit that lined up perfectly behind its leader.
Around Brown, Jayson Tatum (21 points), Derrick White (21) and Payton Pritchard (19) stepped up.
A contender performance, plain and simple.
A message to the East
This kind of win isn’t just another line in the standings.
It’s a message.
Boston knows how to win close games. Boston defends when it matters. And above all, Boston has guys who can catch fire at the decisive moment.
And when Jaylen Brown plays at that level… the Celtics become very, very hard to beat.
