A win built in crunch time
In a game that stayed tight for three quarters, the Boston Celtics finally made the break in the closing minutes to beat the Toronto Raptors 115-101. Driven by their star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics stretched their run to three straight wins and keep edging closer to the top of the Eastern Conference. A sluggish start for Boston

The first quarter ended all square at 26-26, a fair reflection of how even things were. Toronto, meanwhile, played with no fear. Ja’Kobe Walter led the charge offensively, well backed up by Brandon Ingram and RJ Barrett. The Raptors held firm and stopped Boston from getting into its usual rhythm.
Tatum and Brown take over
In that tight setting, Boston’s main men gradually raised their game. Jaylen Brown was especially aggressive and finished with 26 points, coming up big when it mattered. Jayson Tatum, meanwhile, put in a complete shift with 23 points and 13 rebounds, affecting the game at both ends.

Around them, the supporting cast did its bit too, with Neemias Queta chipping in 18 points and 7 rebounds

A one-way fourth quarter
With the Celtics holding only a slim lead going into the final period, the game flipped in a matter of minutes. A quick three from Payton Pritchard sparked a run that changed everything. Boston then strung together a series of efficient possessions at both ends, cashing in on Toronto mistakes, turnovers, missed free throws and some slack defence from the visitors. The Raptors watched the game slip away and never found an answer.
Brown leads the charge in crunch time
In the closing minutes, Jaylen Brown was in full control. He knocked down several huge baskets, including a telling sequence where he missed a free throw, got his own rebound and finished the job straight away. That summed up Boston’s edge and hunger in crunch time. The Celtics closed it out in style and deserved the win after dominating the fourth quarter.
A quiet return for Nikola Vucevic
Also worth noting is Nikola Vucevic’s return to the Celtics rotation. Out for a month after surgery, the centre was back on court but still looked short of sharpness. In limited minutes, he made only a modest contribution, though getting him rolling again could be a big piece of the puzzle for the rest of the season.
Toronto will be kicking itself
For the Toronto Raptors, this one will sting. They were in it for so long, only to fold at the worst possible time, mainly because they lost their composure and consistency in the fourth quarter. Despite Ja’Kobe Walter’s 16 points and solid contributions from Brandon Ingram and RJ Barrett, they couldn’t hold that level to the finish.
Boston is peaking at the right time
With this win, the Boston Celtics keep building momentum as the playoffs approach. They weren’t in total control throughout, but they handled the key moments, leaned on their leaders and shifted gears at the right time. That’s what good teams do. If Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown keep this up, Boston is looking more and more like a real title threat in the Eastern Conference.
