Miami Heat vs Phoenix Suns – Free NBA prediction and picks – January 13, 2026

Miami Heat vs Phoenix Suns : style opposition

The Heat and the Suns meet in Florida for a game that should be compelling — two of the season’s biggest surprises. Both clubs arrive with very different momentum and clashing styles, but that won’t necessarily dent the quality of the show on offer.

Miami Heat : use home turf to win

The Heat have been off the boil lately. Normally steady this season, Erik Spoelstra’s group are in a rough patch — four losses in their last five. Not shocking when the offense isn’t clicking. Miami hasn’t been scoring like usual: in their four recent defeats they failed to reach 100 points twice. That kind of flop had only happened twice in their first 36 games.

The upside is clear: conditions are in place for a bounce-back. They’re at home where they’ve been strong all season (13-6 at the Kaseya Center) and should get Norman Powell back — their leading scorer at nearly 24 points a night. With an extra day off, Miami should rediscover the quick, chaotic style that’s troubled the league since the 2025-26 season began, and give themselves the best shot against Phoenix.

Phoenix Suns : riding the hot streak

The Suns are the in-form team in the league right now. Simple fact: over the last 13 games they own the best record (10-3) and the top defense, allowing 106.3 points per game. Call it a hot spell if you want — but 13 games of it means something’s working. Result: Phoenix have clawed back into the West’s top six. What a contrast to last year’s misery.

Jordan Ott will still be without Jalen Green, sidelined by a hamstring, but the Devin Booker–Dillon Brooks pairing will be there to answer Miami’s attacks, with a top-five finish in the West in their sights. Phoenix travel okay — 10-10 on the road this season — and that might be what finally halts the Arizonans’ run.

NBA Prediction Miami Heat vs Phoenix Suns

Miami scores under 120.5 points

The Suns have been sparkling on defense lately while the Heat are struggling to hit their usual offensive marks. Even with Norman Powell back, Miami has had trouble versus the league’s best defenses, and Phoenix fits the bill of a team that can force another offensive shut-down from the Heat.

First, a word on our predictions

  • What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We give an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak score… and the whole script flips.
  • Let’s be clear: there’s no risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it rarely is. Yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
  • Best move is to be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
  • Betting should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it eats too much of your life, annoys you or stresses you out, take a break. If needed, talk to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re for.
  • Ultimately the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting the risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
  • Important reminder: betting is prohibited for minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money losses, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No commitment from us

Our predictions aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. Simply put: you can’t rely on them to claim anything if a bet loses.

Information can change

A prediction is always based on what we know when we write it. But lineups change (like the Heat’s), a player gets injured, the weather turns… and the analysis can quickly become outdated. We can’t be held responsible for that.

Your role
