Memphis Grizzlies – Oklahoma City Thunder: Playoff rematch
The Grizzlies host the Thunder in mixed circumstances. Memphis is in a rough spell — injuries and a glaring lack of consistency have piled up. Oklahoma City, even with a few important absences, still looks like one of the league’s most organised and efficient teams. On paper the gap is clear. In practice, context could make parts of this game tighter than expected.
Memphis Grizzlies: pull off the upset
Memphis’ season keeps getting messier. Losses stack up. The odd win barely hides a worrying trend. Ja Morant’s repeated absences hit the offense hard, leaving the team short on creativity and reliable options late in possessions.
Without a real floor general, Memphis’ offense turns predictable. Jaren Jackson Jr. carries a heavy share of the scoring burden, but the lack of steady support caps the team’s overall efficiency. They’ve had a few high-scoring games lately, sure, but it feels fragile — especially against a team that can answer back immediately on offense.
Defensively, the Grizzlies show cracks too. Rim protection and collective discipline are patchy. That means too many points conceded to hope you can hang for 48 minutes. Against an Oklahoma City attack this well-oiled, containing them will be brutally difficult.
Oklahoma City Thunder: surviving without SGA and Chet
Oklahoma City is probably going through its toughest stretch in two seasons. After a blistering start, any talk of chasing the Warriors’ 2016 record evaporated quick. For this game, the Thunder will be missing their MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) and Chet Holmgren (shin injuries). The rest of the roster, led by Jalen Williams, will have to step up or risk getting surprised on the road.
The Thunder still hang their hat on an efficient offense and the league’s best defense. Constant pressure on the ball, forcing turnovers and protecting the rim are core to their identity — traits enforced by guys like Cason Wallace, Alex Caruso and Lu Dort. Even without some leaders, OKC keeps a clear structure and high-level team execution.
That backbone lets them travel with confidence. Against a depleted, uneven Memphis side, Oklahoma City should be able to dictate the tempo — in transition and in half-court — and exploit the defensive holes.

NBA Prediction Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder
Thunder to win
The likeliest outcome has the Thunder gradually taking control. Memphis can fight in bursts — the role players bring energy — but over 48 minutes the difference in discipline, depth and consistency should show. If the game opens up, OKC has the pieces to match it and even crank up the pace. If it’s a slower, controlled affair, their team defense and efficiency will smother a Memphis offense that’s too limited without its natural leader.

First, a word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We share an opinion — a snapshot read — but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the whole script changes.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no bet without risk. Even when something looks “obvious”, it rarely is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable at some stage.
- Best rule: be reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. Above all: don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it takes over your life, stresses you out or makes you act recklessly, take a break. If needed, speak to a specialist. That’s what they’re there for.
- In the end, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting the risk exists and won’t vanish, even with the best analysis.
- Essential reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and must follow the laws in your country. Gambling can spiral (lost money, family tensions, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our picks aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. In short: you can’t rely on them to demand anything if a bet loses.
Info can change
A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. In the meantime a lineup (like the Thunder’s) can change, a player gets hurt, the weather turns… and the analysis can be outdated fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
