Memphis Grizzlies – Minnesota Timberwolves: two seasons heading in opposite directions
The Grizzlies meet the Wolves again at the FedExForum for the second time in three days after a 114-131 loss on Saturday. These teams could not be in more different places — Memphis can’t buy a win since the NBA London Games, while Minnesota are quietly climbing back toward the West’s upper crust.
Memphis Grizzlies: time to start defending home turf
The Grizzlies are in freefall — six straight losses and the Play-In slipping away. The Clippers and Mavericks have gobbled up ground while the Grizzlies dropped winnable games against the Pelicans twice (127-133 and 106-114) and a one-point loss to the Hawks (122-124). Injuries and trade talk don’t help, but they don’t fully explain this nosedive.
On the season Tuomas Iisalo’s side sit in the lower third for scoring and defense: 20th in offense at 114.6 points, 21st in defense at 116.6 allowed. Still, they’re tough on the glass (5th) and move the ball well (6th in assists) — the kind of numbers that usually mean a team can hang around when it counts.
INJURY REPORT : Ja Morant (OUT) – Santi Aldama (OUT) – Brandon Clarke (OUT) – Scotty Pippen Jr (OUT) – Zach Edey (OUT) – John Konchar (OUT) – Jaren Jackson Jr (questionable)
Minnesota Timberwolves: pushing back up toward the top four
The Wolves shrugged off a rough patch and have rattled off four straight after that ugly 85-111 loss to Golden State. Chris Finch’s group beat the Warriors (108-83) and the Thunder (123-111), wins that matter in a crowded West and that suggest this squad isn’t done yet.
Minnesota are back in fifth in the West, half a game off the Rockets in fourth. They’ll lean on one of the league’s better offenses (4th at 119.3) led by Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle, and a solid defense (11th at 114.1) anchored by the inevitable Rudy Gobert.
INJURY REPORT : Anthony Edwards (questionable) – Julius Randle (questionable) – Terrence Shannon Jr (OUT)
NBA Pick Memphis Grizzlies vs Minnesota Timberwolves
Over 224.5 points
Minnesota score in bunches. Memphis still know how to move the ball and can put up points even without Ja Morant. When their shooters hit and the ball is moving, the Grizzlies can hang around for long stretches. Expect open looks, uptempo possessions, and a game that keeps piling on the points.

A quick word about our picks
- What we post here are opinions and analysis, not guarantees. Sport is wild. A red card, a freak injury, a random hot streak — anything can flip the script.
- Be blunt: every bet carries risk. Nothing is ever truly obvious. You can and will lose sometimes.
- Be sensible. Bet small, set a bankroll, and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. Chasing losses usually ends badly.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or income. If it starts to take over, pause. Get help if you need it — that’s what support services are for.
- Ultimately it’s your call. Reading our stuff means you accept the risk exists and won’t vanish just because someone wrote a good preview.
- Important reminder: betting is for adults only and must follow your local laws. Gambling can spiral (financial loss, family strain, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium rate) https://www.gambleaware.org/.
