The Lakers and Spurs, 5th and 2nd in the Western Conference respectively, meet in California for a tasty evening. Both teams have one eye on the playoffs — this could be a rehearsal before the main event hits in mid-April.
Los Angeles Lakers: back-to-back from hell 
Right after hosting the Thunder — a 110-119 loss — the Lakers jump straight into another tough test: Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs. This is the fourth of eight straight home games for L.A., and it’s no walk in the park given how hot the Texans are. JJ Redick’s side will still be hunting a second win in four meetings with San Antonio this season.
Having missed the last two games, Luka Doncic might return tonight to face the Spurs. His availability will change the math: without him the Lakers’ chances drop off sharply. L.A. still has LeBron James and a mostly healthy roster, but Luka is the kind of variable that pushes a team into title-talk territory.

Collectively, the Spurs boast the 7th-best defense and the 7th-best offense in the league, driven by Victor Wembanyama on both ends of the floor.
