Although they sit in different conferences, the Lakers and the Magic both need wins to secure playoff spots. Los Angeles Lakers: must bounce back immediately 
Since the All-Star break the Lakers scraped past the Clippers (125-122) and then got blown out by the Celtics (89-111). JJ Redick finally has most of his roster healthy, so the obvious problem is consistency — you can’t fold whenever a title contender comes to town. Their place in the West is far from nailed down: right now LA could finish anywhere from 3rd to 6th, one game separating those spots.
For this one the big three will be available. With just 12 games together this season, Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves and LeBron James still need to find a rhythm — especially on how they divvy up the offense. Redick’s clear: don’t just share the ball for the sake of it. Whoever has the edge has to attack it and keep attacking. Now let’s see how they handle a Magic defense that’s middle of the road.

That result, plus the recent wobble from the 76ers, has given Jamahl Mosley’s team some momentum as they chase the East’s sixth seed.
Fresh off a 111-109 win over the Clippers, Orlando now faces the other Los Angeles team. Still without Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Desmond Bane have had to shoulder the load — and they’ve done it well of late. The Lakers’ defense isn’t elite; the real question is whether the Magic can turn flashes of offense into steady form.
