Los Angeles Lakers – Los Angeles Clippers: L.A.’s final showdown
The teams meet for the last time this season. The edge currently goes to the Clippers, who took the last two meetings. The tiebreaker likely won’t matter for playoff seeding, but both clubs need a win to build momentum heading into the stretch run.
Los Angeles Lakers: why not push for third?
If anyone is cashing in on Houston’s and Denver’s wobble, it’s the Lakers. At 33-21 they’re hovering right behind Houston (34-20, 3rd) and Denver (35-21, 4th). Coming off the All-Star break they should be largely healthy, which would mean the trio Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves and LeBron James could get their 11th game together.
They’re solid at home — 15 wins in 25 at the Crypto.com Arena. Right before the break they beat the Mavericks 124-104, even without Luka Doncic. There’s no roaring momentum, but this clash with the neighbors is a perfect chance to kick off the second half on the right foot.

Los Angeles Clippers: can they finally get back to even?
The Clippers have been one of the league’s better teams since they beat the Lakers in late December (103-88). Since then Tyronn Lue’s side has gone 21-7. Kawhi Leonard has been monumental, and even after trading James Harden and Ivica Zubac, the Clippers keep moving forward with an eye on the West’s 8th spot.
Against the Nuggets at the Intuit Dome yesterday they won thanks to another Jamal Murray meltdown — a missed free throw that could’ve forced overtime (115-114). Bennedict Mathurin starred in front of his new crowd, pouring in 38 points with 5 rebounds and 4 assists on 12/22 shooting.
INJURY REPORT : Darius Garland (OUT)
NBA Prediction Los Angeles Lakers vs Los Angeles Clippers
Clippers to score over 108.5 points
Even with Darius Garland not making his Clippers debut tonight, Tyronn Lue’s team can still find offense with Kawhi as the primary initiator. Role players like Bennedict Mathurin have shown they can pop off from game to game, and the Lakers’ defense isn’t top-tier. Expect the Clippers to clear 108.5 without fuss.

First, a word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. It’s our take, our read of the moment — not a promise. Sport is messy and unpredictable. A flagrant foul, an injury, a buzzer-beater from nowhere… and the whole script flips.
- Let’s be blunt: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even the “obvious” ones aren’t. Yes, you can lose. That’s unavoidable sometimes.
- Be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And whatever you do, don’t chase losses — it usually ends badly.
- Betting should be a pastime, not a job or a reliable income. If it starts taking over your life or stressing you out, step away and get help.
- Ultimately, you’re responsible. Reading our content means you accept the risk — it doesn’t disappear because we ran a few stats.
- Important: betting is forbidden to minors and must comply with your local laws. Gambling can spiral (money loss, family strain, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.

Info can change
A pick is based on what we know when we publish. Lineups change, players get hurt, situations shift — and our take can become outdated. We can’t be held responsible for that.
