Lens – Angers: Lens hunting the top spot
RC Lens have a golden chance to move temporarily into first. Angers (12e) turn up in the North hoping to nick points and shove themselves further from the drop.
Lens need to get the engine going
They messed up last weekend. A 2-1 loss at Lorient was a slap in the face and a wasted chance to put serious heat on PSG. Lens sit second, one point behind Paris (who have a game in hand). Form’s slipped — one win in their last four.
Still, Bollaert is a nightmare for visitors. At home they’re brutal: 11 wins in their last 12 league visits. On 56 points they’re even ahead of where they were in that ridiculous 2022-2023 run at the same stage. They love facing Angers — unbeaten in their last three home meetings — and they’ll feed off the crowd to get back up to speed.
Angers out of ideas
Up front it’s flat. Twelfth after a soaking at Nice (2-0), Alexandre Dujeux’s men are struggling to score. The numbers sting: the second-worst expected goals figure in the league and goalless in four of their last five league games.
They can still surprise — that 1-0 raid at Nantes showed it. But to grab a tenth win and keep a cushion over the drop they’ll have to work for it. Against a side that’s been their bogey (six straight defeats to Lens), expect Angers to bunker deep, hope for a break and pray a counter ends like 2021’s shock at Bollaert (3-1).
Probable lineups
Lens : Risser ; Celik, Ganiou, Sarr ; Abdulhamid, Sangare, Thomasson, Udol ; Thauvin, Fofana ; Edouard
Angers : Koffi ; Courcoul, Camara, Lefort ; Raolisoa, Mouton, Belkebla, van den Boomen, Djibirin ; Sbai, Koyalipou
Football Tip Lens vs Angers
Lens to win
Against a Lens block that’s physical and ruthless at home, Angers’ meek attack will struggle and probably smash into a brick wall.
Lens are hungry to make up for that Lorient slip and need points in the title race. They’ve got firepower up front and the Bollaert crowd behind them. Against an Angers side that can barely get going, the home team have enough to break them down. A Lens win looks the sensible call.

First, a word about our tips
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. It’s an opinion, a read of the moment, not a promise. Sport is messy and unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and everything flips.
- Let’s be blunt: there’s no risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, it rarely is. Yes, that means you can lose. It will happen at some point.
- Best practice: be sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase losses. That almost never ends well.
- Betting should stay a hobby, not a job or income source. If it’s taking over your life, making you angry or stressed, take a break. If needed, speak to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, you’re responsible. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and won’t vanish, even with the best analysis.
- Essential reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and must comply with local law. Gambling can spiral (financial loss, family tensions, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No legal commitment from us
Our tips aren’t contracts. They carry no legal weight. In plain terms: you can’t use them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Info changes
A tip is based on what we know when we write it. Team sheets change, a player gets injured, the weather turns… and the analysis can go out of date fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before you bet, make sure gambling is legal where you live. If it isn’t, that’s on you, not us.
