Dallas Stars – Vegas Golden Knights: contrasting form at the American Airlines Center
The American Airlines Center hosts a West Division showdown. The home side haven’t lost in regulation for an impressive stretch. The visitors are sliding down the table. Vegas’s defensive coverage has looked shaky since the break. The Texas attack will try to pick apart those gaps. Home ice should set the tone.
Dallas laying down the law
Glen Gulutzan’s crew are on a twelve-game point streak. February and March delivered ten straight wins. That’s a new franchise record.
Their last two outings needed extra time: a shootout loss to Colorado (4-5) and an overtime win over Chicago (4-3). They’re second in the West, seven points off the top.
Home ice is a fortress. Eight straight home games with points. A 70.0% home points rate. The defense are giving up just 2.70 goals per game in front of the fans. Still, the injury list is crowded. Roope Hintz is back on the shelf (lower-body). Mikko Rantanen, Radek Faksa and Tyler Seguin also sit injured. Ilya Lyubushkin missed the last game. Tyler Myers is slotting into the third pairing for now.
Knights in freefall
Five defeats in six for the Knights. Identical 2-4 losses to Minnesota and Edmonton. The drop down the standings is brutal. Anaheim and the Utah Mammoth have passed Vegas. The Knights sit sixth in the Western Conference.
Their road form is worse. Bruce Cassidy’s side have lost seven of their last ten trips since mid-January. Knights average 3.03 goals for and 3.09 against on the road. Vegas’ defense has conceded at least three goals in six straight away games.
Injuries are biting. Mark Stone has been missing since the start of the month and will be out for this trip to Texas. Reilly Smith made way for Brett Howden in the last game. Recent pickup Nick Dowd, acquired from Washington, is still chasing his first point after two outings.
NHL Pick Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights
Dallas over 2.5 goals (Regulation time)
Nevada’s defensive frailties have worsened sharply. The Golden Knights have conceded at least three goals in seven straight games. Instability in goal for the visitors is a major factor in this read.
The Texas attack hits with brutal consistency. Dallas have scored three or more in 11 of their last 12 outings. Recent head-to-heads back this up: the Stars have regularly hit three goals or more against this opponent. The Knights can’t seem to shut down the middle ice right now, so backing the home side to reach three goals looks like the clearest, numbers-based play of the night.

First, a word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We offer an opinion, a snapshot read, never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable: a red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the script flips.
- Make no mistake: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it still isn’t. Yes, you can lose. That’s inevitable sooner or later.
- Be sensible. Bet small, set a bankroll and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — that rarely ends well.
- Betting should stay a hobby, not a job or income source. If it’s taking over your life, stressing you or causing problems, take a break. If needed, contact a specialist support service — that’s what they’re there for.
- At the end of the day, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk exists and never goes away, even with the best analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral out of control (losses, family strain, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium rate) https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our picks aren’t contracts. They have no legal weight. In plain terms: you can’t rely on them to make any claim if a bet loses.
Info can change
A pick is based on what we know when we write it. But squads change, players get hurt, weather shifts… and the analysis can quickly go out of date. We’re not responsible for that.
Your role
