FC Cologne – Bayern Munich: extend the unbeaten run
Wednesday night the RheinEnergieSTADION hosts a match that’s wildly one-sided on paper. Cologne, stuck in the midtable mire and under pressure in the standings, welcome a Bayern running flat out and already nailed to the top of the Bundesliga. For one side it’s about damage control. For the other, it’s about keeping the league steamrolled.
Cologne: a season that’s sinking fast
Nothing’s simple for FC Cologne this season. The 2-2 draw with Heidenheim stopped a run of defeats, but it didn’t calm any nerves. Cologne haven’t won in seven matches and their defence is full of holes — they’ve conceded at least once in each of their last 11 games.
In the table the situation is fragile. With just 17 points, Cologne have only a slim gap to the relegation zone and face a tough run of fixtures. Home form doesn’t help: two wins in eight at the RheinEnergieSTADION is nowhere near enough to breathe easy.
Against Bayern it’s just as worrying. Beaten in the cup in October (4-1), Lukas Kwasniok’s side know every meeting with the Bavarians turns into a long defensive shift — usually lost before it starts.
Bayern Munich: relentless display
Bayern, on the other hand, just steam ahead. The 8-1 pasting of Wolfsburg on Sunday reminded everyone how huge the gap is between Vincent Kompany’s men and the rest. Down at half-time, the Bavarians stomped on the gas after the break.
The run is frightening: 17 goals in the last four matches and the ability to flip any game in minutes. Up front, Bayern suffocate opponents, create chance after chance and never let the pressure drop.
Defensively they’re not perfect — they’ve let in a few recently — but that looks almost irrelevant next to their firepower. Away from home they remain just as ruthless, a run of wins that confirms their domination.

Football Prediction FC Cologne vs Bayern Munich
Both teams to score
Bayern should logically take control and set the tempo. Cologne, despite their limits, can still punish a lapse or a mistake and find the net. Both teams scoring looks credible, even if the final outcome seems hard to argue with.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We share an opinion, a current read, but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and the script flips.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing really is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
- Best advice: be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live. And for God’s sake: don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking over your life, annoying you or putting you under pressure, take a break. And if needed, talk to a specialist service. That’s what they’re there for.
- In the end, responsibility’s yours. Reading our content means accepting the risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis.

No commitment from us
Our predictions aren’t a contract. They have no legal weight. Plain and simple: you can’t rely on them to claim anything if a bet doesn’t go your way.
Information that changes
A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. But lineups can change, a player can get injured, the weather can turn… and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We can’t be held responsible for that.
