Carolina Panthers: a miracle already pulled off 
With an 8-9 record and a negative point differential (-69), Carolina didn’t look like a playoff club. Yet the Panthers grabbed the rare chances they had, notably in that decisive Week 13 win over the Rams.
That 31-28 result was built on a near-perfect script: three turnovers from Matthew Stafford, including a pick-six and a late strip-sack. Los Angeles Rams: experience, talent and depth 
The Rams arrive at 12-5 as a complete team on both sides of the ball. Matthew Stafford delivered an MVP-calibre season, running an explosive offense that’s deadly in the red zone. Sean McVay, true to form, has juggled injuries and adjustments to keep Los Angeles among the NFC elite.
Health is the deciding factor. Davante Adams’ expected return — he missed the last three games — raises the Rams’ ceiling substantially. Fourteen receiving touchdowns this season. A top red-zone target for Stafford. And he opens space for Puka Nacua.
With a Super Bowl-winning coach and a roster used to pressure nights, Los Angeles has a clear edge in experience and consistency.

History shows teams with losing records have pulled Wild Card shocks — Panthers included in 2014. Different story now. The Rams are healthier, deeper and far more reliable over a full game. It’s hard to picture Stafford repeating a collapse like that regular-season loss.
