Brighton – Arsenal: The Gunners want to keep the run going
This Wednesday night the Amex Stadium serves up a tasty clash with very different stakes. Brighton, parked in mid-table, want a third straight league win. Arsenal, charging full speed in the title hunt, aren’t about to hand out points for free.
Arsenal: a constant threat from set pieces
Mikel Arteta’s men just ground out a nervy 2-1 in the derby with Chelsea. They struggled at times to break down Liam Rosenior’s block, but they had the one edge that’s killing teams right now: corners. William Saliba and Jurrien Timber headed them over the line, and the late stages turned into end-to-end chaos after Pedro Neto’s red oddly fired Chelsea up.
It took a top-draw David Raya and an offside flag to keep Arsenal breathing. Lovely little stat: Arsenal have already scored 16 goals from corners this season, matching the Premier League single-season record. It’s only a matter of time before that 17th lands.
That win was vital. It keeps the Gunners five points clear of Manchester City (who still have a game in hand). And for the travelling fans: Arsenal are humming away from home. Unbeaten in 11 away games across all competitions, they’ve hit their stride in attack — 2.3 away goals per match since January, versus just 1.2 in the first half of the season.
Brighton finally lift their heads
The Seagulls can breathe a bit easier. Sunday’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest did wonders for confidence, thanks to a stunner from Diego Gomez and a decisive finish from former Gunner Danny Welbeck. Put it this way: Fabian Hurzeler’s side have picked up more wins in their last two games than in the previous 13. That tells you the European dream isn’t dead yet — even if they’re stuck in 11th.
They haven’t strung together three league wins in a row since the season’s opening weeks. At the Amex they’re tough — only two home defeats all season — but they love a draw (just two wins in their last eight home outings). Recent history doesn’t inspire optimism either: Arsenal have beaten Brighton twice already this season (EFL Cup and the league) and haven’t lost in their last five trips to the south coast.
Probable line-ups
Brighton & Hove Albion : Verbruggen ; Veltman, Dunk, Van Hecke, Kadioglu ; Gross, Baleba ; Gomez, Hinshelwood, Mitoma ; Welbeck
Arsenal : Raya ; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori ; Havertz, Zubimendi, Lewis-Skelly ; Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli
Football Prediction Brighton vs Arsenal
Arsenal to win
Brighton are showing signs of life, but their back line still leaks. One clean sheet in the last ten says it all.
Against an Arsenal side that’s brutally efficient from set pieces and knows how to close out awkward games, the punishment could come. Arteta might rotate a little, and this won’t be a classic for the neutrals, but the Gunners have the know-how to get the job done and take all three points.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses — opinions, not guarantees. We offer a view based on the moment. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal… and everything can flip.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it rarely is. Yes, that means you can lose. Sooner or later you will.
- Keep it sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need for bills. And don’t chase losses — it almost never ends well.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or income source. If it’s taking over your life, making you anxious or stressed, take a break. If needed, speak to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means you accept the risk is real and won’t vanish, even with the best analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is prohibited for minors and must follow your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (financial loss, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
