He’s not a surprise anymore.
For the second year running, Tallon Griekspoor is back in Dubai’s last four. The Dutchman saw off Jakub Mensik 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 — steady, ruthless when it mattered.
A win that proves his hard-court steel and his knack for turning up at big events.

Griekspoor sharper when it counts
Tallon Griekspoor played smart. 23 winners, 17 unforced errors — tidy. He rode the dips and kept control.
In the first set he grabbed control early with a decisive break. Mensik tried to up the tempo in the second, took advantage of a short wobble and got back on terms.
But in the decider the Dutchman put the pressure on from the off. Two breaks from three chances — clinical.
Mensik showed some fine stretches, but he couldn’t stay consistent in the tight exchanges.

A high-stakes meeting with Rublev
In the semis, Griekspoor will face Andrey Rublev.
Tough test. The Russian leads their head-to-head 3-0 on tour. But their last clash was in 2024 — two seasons ago, which feels like an era in modern tennis.
Last year Griekspoor ran into Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semis here. This time he’s not just showing up.
In Dubai the Dutchman moves quietly. He moves with purpose.
