Atalanta – Udinese: Atalanta has no room for error
Atalanta Bergamo must kick things back into gear. After their first Serie A loss of the year, they welcome Udinese on Saturday hungry and irritated. That slip dented their Champions League dreams, but the Bergamo side are still alive on every front and want to prove it.
Atalanta gasping but hanging on
February looked flawless. They dismantled Juve in the cup, beat Napoli in the league and even knocked Dortmund out of the Champions League. Then March started with a face-plant: a 2-1 loss to Sassuolo — and yes, Sassuolo were down to ten men. That run of domestic invincibility in 2026 is over.
No time to mope. Atalanta followed that up straight away with the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi at Lazio. It was bonkers. Mario Pasalic — red-hot with 3 goals in his last 4 — levelled, then made a mess of things and handed Lazio a way back in. Yunus Musah scrambled a last-gasp equaliser to save the draw. Back at the Gewiss this weekend, they know the stakes. Six points off the top four, they’ve got no jokers left if they want Champions League football next season.
Udinese have found form
A trip to Lombardy is always tough for Udinese, especially with the record: they’ve lost six of their last eight visits to Bergamo, grabbing just two points while conceding 19 goals. Still, the Friuli side beat Atalanta 1-0 in the first meeting and would love a repeat — something they haven’t pulled off in two decades.
Last Monday the Bianconeri snapped a nasty run of three straight defeats by thumping a floundering Fiorentina 3-0. A tidy win, made easier by the return of striker Keinan Davis, who buried his penalty, ably supported by Christian Kabasele and Adam Buksa. Sitting snug in the top 10, Kosta Runjaic’s team are heading for a calm, well-earned stay in the division — no late-season panic required.
Likely line-ups
Atalanta BC : Carnesecchi ; Koussonou, Djimsiti, Kolasinac ; Zappacosta, De Roon, Pasalic, Bernasconi ; Samardzic, Zalewski ; Scamacca
Udinese : Okoye ; Kristensen, Kabasele, Mlacic ; Ehizibue, Ekkelenkamp, Karlstrom, Piotrowski, Zemura ; Zaniolo, Davis

Draw
Atalanta desperately need points. No argument there. But the pile-up of high-intensity matches is starting to catch up with them.
Udinese, on the other hand, had two extra days to recover and love springing surprises on the big teams when the pressure drops. The Bianconeri have enough legs to nick a point at the Gewiss Stadium, which would sting Atalanta’s Champions League hopes even more.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis and opinion — nothing guaranteed. We offer a view, a read of the moment. Sport remains unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a fluke goal… and everything changes.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it isn’t. Yes, that means you can lose. It will happen at some point.
- Play smart. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And whatever you do, don’t chase losses — that rarely ends well.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or income source. If it’s taking over your life, making you angry or stressed, step back. Talk to a specialist organisation if needed. That’s what they’re for.
- Ultimately, responsibility sits with you. Reading our content means you accept the risk remains, no matter how good the analysis.
- Important reminder: betting is forbidden to minors and must follow your local laws. Gambling can spiral (financial loss, family tension, addiction). Need help? Players Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-premium call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions are not a contract. They carry no legal weight. In short: you can’t hold us responsible if a bet doesn’t win.
Information can change
A prediction is based on what we know when we write it. Between then and kick-off, a line-up changes, a player gets injured, the weather turns… and the analysis can become outdated. We can’t be held liable for that.
Your role
Before betting, check that wagering is legal where you live. If it isn’t, that’s your responsibility, not ours.
