AS Roma – Pisa: a brutally one-sided clash in the capital
Italian football hits the run-in on Friday night. The Eternal City hosts a fixture that couldn’t be more lopsided on the table. AS Roma face the league’s bottom side. The Champions League spots are slipping away from the home team. Pisa are staring at the trapdoor to the second tier. Both sides need three points, badly.
The need for redemption in the camp
Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is watching his team slide fast. AS Roma have taken just four points from their last five league games. Inter Milan just pasted them 5-0. The gap to fourth is now four points. If they want Europe, they need a clean finish from here on out. The good news is the home record still gives the staff something to cling to. Roma have won ten of their 15 matches at home. They haven’t lost a Serie A game in their own ground since December.
The slide into the abyss
Boss Oscar Hiljemark still can’t stop the rot. The visitors sit dead last in the table. They’re nine points from safety with seven games left. Torino recently handed them another defeat, 1-0. Since August, they’ve managed just two wins. Away from home, the attack has been shocking. Since the new coach came in, they haven’t scored a single goal on the road. The history books are heavily on Roma’s side. The reverse game ended the way you’d expect, with Pisa losing 1-0 to AS Roma.
Expected line-ups
AS Rome : Svilar ; Ghilardi, Ndicka, Hermoso ; Celik, Cristante, Pisilli, Tsimikas ; Soule, Pellegrini ; Malen
Pise : Semper ; Calabresi, Caracciolo, Canestrelli ; Leris, Hojolt, Akinsanmiro, Aebischer, Angori ; Tramoni ; Durosinmi
Football Prediction Roma vs Pisa
AS Roma to win by 2 or more goals
Roma’s need to close the gap at the top should light a fire under them from the first whistle. Their attack should tear into the flimsiest defence in the country.
The gap in quality will turn this into a siege on the Pisa goal. The league’s bottom side look rattled, and that should open the door for Roma to drive straight through the middle.
Home support should turn a decent win into a proper hammering for the favourites.

First, a word on our picks
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. It’s our view, our read of the moment, but never a promise. Sport is sport: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal out of nowhere… and the whole script changes.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no risk-free bet. Even when something looks nailed on, it isn’t. And yes, that means you can lose. At some point, you probably will.
- Best thing to do is stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. And whatever you do, don’t chase losses. That road ends badly.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking over your day, winding you up or putting you under pressure, step away. If you need to, talk to a specialist support service. That’s what it’s there for.
- In the end, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Important reminder: betting is forbidden for minors and must follow the law in your country. Gambling can spiral fast, with money problems, family tension and addiction. Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions are not a contract. They carry no legal weight. Plain and simple: you can’t use them to claim anything if a bet goes wrong.
Information changes
A prediction is always based on what we know when it’s written. But then a team sheet changes, a player gets hurt, the weather turns nasty… and the analysis can be out of date fast. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your job
Before you bet, make sure betting is legal where you are. If it isn’t, that’s on you, not us.
